Part of the problem with outdated systems that no longer deliver on their promises is that they are filled with amazing, talented, well-intentioned people who are part of the old system because they still believe and hope old promises will be fulfilled. This hope is enforced by any evidence they can find that will speak in the smallest way to promises coming true. And sadly, when we go searching for evidence of something, we usually find it.
